About A Cappella Niagara... |
A Cappella Niagara was formed in 1998 by a handful of talented men who simply loved to sing. Founded on a premise of musical excellence, personal growth and fellowship, and a yearning to make a difference in the community, A Cappella Niagara has grown into one of the finest vocal entertainment groups in the area.
The membership of A Cappella Niagara is comprised of men from many different walks of life. Their common bond is a love for singing. Men of all ages and backgrounds have come together in vocal harmony . |
A Cappella Niagara has entertained a variety of audiences in Canada and the United States with their unique style of vocal harmony and musical repertoire spanning pop classics to classic barbershop, from contemporary hits to the songs of a bygone era. |
The organization as a whole has flourished in recent years. No stranger to competition, A Cappella Niagara placed fourth in the 2007 Ontario Provincial Competition sponsored by the Barbershop Harmony Society. The group was also represented well at the 2007 Novice Regional Quartet Competition by sweeping the gold, sliver and bronze medals, awarded to three of our organization’s vocal quartets.
In addition to paid performances, A Cappella Niagara also performs for various charitable and non-profit organizations thoughout the year, including seniors homes, public benefit concerts and other not-for-profit engagements.
Like song, speech unites the voices of children and men in common understanding. Like singing, speech is easily learned by some; for others, special effort is required. That is why the A Cappella Niagara organization also contributes to the Harmony for Speech Foundation of Ontario. Harmony for Speech Provides funds for numerous speech-related projects and equipment at hospitals, clinics and treatment centres throughout Ontario. Together, along with other Ontario organizations, A Cappella Niagara has helped to raise over four million dollars for this most wonderful cause. |
